Reviews of Wunderlich rev. counter R NINE T, /5, Scrambler, Urban GS

R9T Tacho Francis Moffat on Oct 18, 2023

The first tacho sent to me was for a BMW R18 which has max 6000 RPM. The R9T has max RPM of 8500. It took a while and several emails to get accross to the sales team that they had sent to me the WRONG Tacho. After several days I was sent the correct tachco which is now installed on my R9T and is working perfectly and looks fantastic on the bike.

I am very pleased with the revcounter, easy to fit .I deviated from the instructions and fed off the power as described in the instructions with a feed to a usb port i fitted behind the wunderlich screen.I then fed this power to the rev counter.I am very pleased with the quality of the product.

I have fitted this Rev counter to my r nine t urban gs and am really impressed by it. To start with, the unit supplied had a silver bevel (as opposed to the black bevel in every image I’d seen of it) and perfectly matches the standard speedo. When switching on the ignition, the beautifully damped needle completes the same sweep as the speedo and, on the road smoothly indicates revs. For my bike, it needed no further adjustment to accurately display revolutions. As to fitting the unit, to do a tidy job it is necessary to raise the fuel tank and to solder additional wires (provided) to extend to the power socket and ignition coil. To actually connect to the bike’s wiring I used posi tap connectors. This is the first time I’d tried them and would recommend their use to make damage free and reversible connections. It took me an afternoon to fit, going steady to ensure the neatest job possible. One final thought, if you don’t have a screen of sorts the mounting bracket and wiring connector will be visible from the front. Otherwise, it looks like a genuine BMW part and I recommend it. Lastly, I had first class service from the supplier.

Easy install with the usual pictorial instructions from Wunderlich. The rev counter itself is neat and in keeping with the main clock. Also keeps the simple look rather than than full BMW option.
