Reviews of Wunderlich rear pannier bars - black finish - R1200RT LC, R1250RT

Good quality, Warning for pillion leg position Bill Lennox on Jul 07, 2024

Great quality, pillion can only get heel on pegs due to bar restricting leg position.

Well crafted engineering to protect the panniers. Perfect job. Well designed and easy to fit. Also help with lifting the bike onto the centre stand. Very pleased. They arrived well packaged and promptly.

In the way of protecting your bike, this was a no brainer for me, god forbid I drop her, not only because it's a heavy lump, but you dress for the slide not the ride, so I thought with the front bars, the luggage bars seemed the right way to go, they were easy to install, I like how they are removable, everything supplied easy to use, recommend.

Crash bar Kevin Stockford on Aug 04, 2023

Brought these bars as used a similar bike and dropped the bike from standing and only damage was scratched bars. They look good was told not to use rear bars to lift onto bikes main stand as using them for thuis purpose can break the bikes main frame

The lack of comprehensive instructions makes fitting a little annoying. Are they worth the money? Yes, as the dealer dropped my bike during servicing. Panniers went damaged unlike the screen and front panels.

Decent set of bars. Dealer fitted them and reported no problems. As the description mentions, these are not suitable for passengers, because the bars impede their legs.

Found left side a bit tricky to fit. The foot peg bolt was hard to get out used other bolt as a drifter so was ok.

Got Bahnstormers to fit the black bars ( "not the easier things to fit" - £58) at same time as annual service. Spoil look of the bike without panniers fitted but when they are fitted the whole bike looks very good

Great product for protecting bike Andrew Bailey on Jun 09, 2019

Life saver for me. Big heavy bike and me, back after 25 years of not riding, are a recipe for damage. As it was I dropped the bike three times when away for two weeks. Each time at near 0 mph. Each time the bars absorbed the impact and the bike stayed fine. Can’t say the same for the paint finish on the bars though. Used in conjunction with BMW head protectors. Each drop did nothing apart from scratching the bits that are cheap to replace. Easy to fit except for the bolt under the side panel which was tricky to do without touching the panel. Follow instructions and all is well. Oh and they are not really much wider than pannier so filtering is unaffected.

Added these to a new R1250 RT for peace of mind. Arrived promptly, well made and fit well; bit tricky with one under fairing bolt but other than that, straightforward. Keenly awaiting revised Engine Bars launch in March, 2019
