In the dark I’m sometimes unsure if the side stand Is down properly, now I can see what I’m doing and was very easy to fit. I used the cigarette lighter socket on the right hand side to power the light. This is as per the instructions for the K1200 version, as the RT does not have the socket as per the instructions that come in the box. There is more than enough cable to run the cable around the frame and get across the bike to the socket and also fit the switch below the throttle. The light does go out on after about 30 seconds after you switch the ignition off. A warning light/illuminated switch would have been useful in daylight if you forget to switch it off but the on switch remains depressed when switched on and it is easy to spot.
