In hindsight, I do wonder why BMW fitted the Nav bracket on the handlebars in the first place. From my very first experience I felt it was an accident waiting to happen. Prior to a recent roadtrip to France I purchased and fitted the Wunderlich improved Nav bracket which sites the Nav above the main console. The improvement in user experience was instant and on the road allows me to view the display with very little deviation from the road. I am a shorter rider and this does help. Points to note: full left lock and cable is at full stretch so had to adjust a cable tidy. Full right lock and LH resevoir hits bottom of Nav cradle. Tilting for taller riders may alleviate this. I'm now looking to fit a phone bracket in place of old Nav handlebar bracket just so it is out, visible and charging.

Very happy with this product, it is robust and all the holes line up for the bolts :). Fitting took about 20 minutes and the factory cradle just relocates without needing to reroute cables etc. It's expensive for a bit of steel but I am very pleased I did it. Using the Nav has just become much safer.

Have been thinking about moving the sat nav from the handlebar position for a wile but worried about how it would fit to still allow the view of the bikes instruments. Decided to go for it and ordered a quality kit and have not regretted it. It fits perfectly just under the screen and still giving a good view is the instruments. Very happy.

The original position of the Sat Nav on the RS was too low and you had to momentarily take your eyes off the road to look at it. The bracket I purchased from Nippy Norman is excellent and very easy to fit. The position of the Sat Nav is now above the instrument panel and Sat Nav can be looked at without taking your eyes off the road. Removal of the old bracket and rerouting the wire behind the instrument panel is not complicated and you do not have to disconnect anything. You do need smaller handlebar bolts if you want the bolts to sit flush as the original bolts sit about 10mm above the bars. Would recommend to any RS owners frustrated with original Sat Nav position.
